Overview

The bike was restored by Thomas Maxwell of Menlo Park California in 1980 and was owned by Pete Dexter of Grover Beach California. He purchased the bike from Darwin Williams of Santa Clara California in 1989.

Pete put approximately 8500 miles on the bike and stopped riding the bike in around 2006, when it was garaged in good working order. The bike was the crown jewel of his modest motorcycle collection.

This bike has just been cleaned and serviced to awaken it from its rest. The bike starts right up and runs great. Clear CA Title with current registration.

MILEAGE: The odometer reads 36636 but the actual mileage is unknown. The mileage might reflect the mileage from a restoration completed in 1980.

PAINT: The paint is not original but the repaint is very high quality and is in very good condition. The paint work is as good or better that the original. It is unknown when the repaint was completed but probably during the 1980 restoration using great quality paints and labor.

SHEET METAL: Overall the sheet metal is in very good shape with no outstanding dents, dings, or damage. Believed to be factory original sheet metal.

CHROME: The chrome is in overall very good condition with some very minor pitting in a few spots but nothing that stands out. Chrome took a good cleaning and polish

MECHANICAL: The bike is in good working order. All fluids have been changed. The fuel tank has been cleaned and all lines and filters have been replaced. It has new plugs, plug wires, points, and condenser. The air filter and grips are also new. The bike rides as expected with the technology and design that is just over six decades old.

There is no history on the slingers. The oil when changed was clean and the screen showed no sign of sludge indicating good service intervals.

WHEELS & TIRES: Rims are OEM
Front tire is a Metzeler Perfect ME77 3.50 – 18 – 55S
Rear tire is an Avon Road Runner AM 21 110/90 H18
The tires are at least fifteen years old but show little signs of wear or cracking. There is also a new unmounted Metzler tire that matches the front that will be included in the sale.
