Overview

The 62 Sedan has door skins which mated flush with the rocker panels and featured ventipanes on both the front and rear windows. The Series 62 Convertible was the only open-bodied Cadillac available. With a price tag of $2902 and a production of just 6755 units, this very popular model would become the symbol of success. This Series 62 Convertible is fully loaded with every factory option that was available, including the rare factory spot light. This Cadillac is in excellent condition and is very close to perfect, and everything works on this magnificent motor car.

This is a restored 1947 Cadillac series 62 convertible. The prior owner did a repaint/restoration in the middle 1990’s. The current owner purchased the car at auction in central California and he has had it garaged since with minimal miles driven. The car has not been driven for 5 years. The car has just been serviced and is now road worthy, ready for the summer weekend cruise.

This is an original California car.  Paint is very well done. The leather upholstery is magnificent and the electric convertible top operates smoothly as designed. This fine automobile will take you back in time and is worthy of any drive asked of it by a new owner. It would be a shame to re-engineer any facet of this luxury, low production automobile and the new owner will have the responsibility to be a good curator.

Interior: Beautiful Red leather pleated seats, all new Tan top with chrome rails, full painted dash with all correct instruments available in the day including a working  AM radio and clock. All instrument faces are clean and clear, full electric including seats and windows as available for the year’s top of line model; Check the pictures!

Sheet metal appears to be original. Fit and finish are excellent. All trim is clean, neat, and properly fit. All badging is correct

Chrome

Mechanical

This car was tuned and ran great during its life with the current owner (19 years). It has not been run for 5 years so it recently visited a quality mechanic shop and it is now road worthy. A new gas tank and fuel sending unit were installed and the fuel lines and carb were flushed out. New battery, coil, oil and engine coolant. The brakes were adjusted and observed to not be in need of new linings or drum turning.
