1939 Harley Davidson EL "Knucklehead" with Sidecar

Experience the iconic design of the 1939 Harley Davidson EL Knucklehead with Matching Sidecar. With its older restoration and good mechanical condition, this iconic vintage motorcycle offers a one-of-a-kind ride. As a true collector's piece, it's perfect for any motorcycle enthusiast or anyone looking to add a piece of history to their collection.

Overview:

Very little of the early history of this 1939 Harley Davidson Knucklehead is unknown, but it appears nicely presented and that it was subject to an older restoration and has since been on long term display with minimal use. Finished in two-tone white over blue with a matching sidecar, for many years it was in the collection of a long-time resident of New Jersey with a private Museum before entering the present owner's collection.

Maintained in largely static display since acquisition, recommission is recommended before active use.  This will clean up remarkably well with a little bit of time and polish.

Mileage:

Odometer shows 11 Miles since restoration.

Paint:

Two-Tone Blue and White Paint. In good condition for its age, there is some cracking in the enamel paint and some small scratches and paint flakes but overall is in pretty nice condition.  There is some sort of 3m style vinyl clear wrap that is installed on the panels, (was told this was installed so that it would protect the paint when people would sit on it in the museum and it would not ruin paint).

Sheet Metal:

Excellent original sheet metal with a great fit.

Chrome:

Excellent, hi-quality chrome application on the restoration will clean up and shine great.

Mechanical:

This motorcycle was restored a number of years ago that included a fresh mechanical restoration of the entire motorcycle to include motor, trans, wheels, etc. It sat static in a private collections, when the new owner acquired the motorcycle it was recommissioned to run and ride, it was then put away in a way to again become a static display, it was last running less than 2 years ago. Recommissioning should only be adding fluids and new battery.

Carburetor:

Linkert M55 with Chrome Air Snout.

Wheel & Tires:

Rear Wheel:  16" Chrome laced wheel with 16x5:00 tire (Tires are on the older side and show signs of weather cracking).

Front Wheel:  16" Chrome laced wheel with 16x5:00 tire (Tires are on the older side and show signs of weather cracking).

Sidecar:

Sidecar is in remarkable condition, very straight and very solid. There is no rust rot through like you see on most, interior is in great shape also has a included cover.
