This is a frame up restoration with all matching numbers by Bill Hoard who is one of the leading restoration guys.
This is a show quality restoration done in 2008. Bill said that this was the classic “barn find” ready for a frame up restoration. Bill describes this as a 95 point restoration with a few non-original parts. This is not a “trailer queen”. It was built to ride. The owner has a two-page document with over 79 items detailing the restoration. The motor was balanced (left side 770.8 and right side 770.3) and all those specifications are listed. It runs very smooth. He also has a photo album with 30 pictures documenting the work from start to finish, including a photo of the bike before the work started. Powder coated frame and parts, fresh chrome, new chrome rims and spokes, perfect new paint and clear coat. It does have a Boyer ignition, but most of the original ignition parts were kept to retain the original cosmetic appearance.
After the restoration the bike has never run on pump gas. Always on 108 octane leaded race fuel, which it had in it when the owner took possession. He has ridden it enough (3,700 miles) to ensure that it stays in good working order. It is in perfect condition and better than new! Bike is in Dallas, Texas. Looking for a good home for this classic!
