This is a 1953 Norton Ariel motorcycle aka “Homer’s ride.” This is a Norton Featherbed frame with an Ariel Square 4 engine for a power plant. I thought all of these years that Homer built the bike but It appears that he purchased it from the builder many years ago and has been its curator, rider, and tuner ever since.
Homer took his last ride on this superb machine at Hansen Dam in Nov of 2015. Probably his last ride ever. This bike is in running condition and needs some TLC. It comes complete with an extra tank and a few extra parts. Sold on a Clean California title and registration.
Unknown mileage. 13,304 showing on the clock.
Paint is older of good quality with road scars.
Sheet metal is mostly excellent with a few dings.
Minimal chrome with the need of polishing.
This Ariel motor was in excellent running condition and would need some TLC prior to placement back on the road. Homer was a wizard at Ariel power plants and this was his ride.
Rims are Dunlop aluminum with painted spokes
Tires are 3.35 X 19 in rear and 400 X 19 in front.
