Overview

This factory born 1949 Indian Scout 249 was restored by Chuck Julian in the mid 1970’s. This motorcycle is in excellent mechanical and exterior condition, completely rebuilt to factory specifications. After restoration the motorcycle was test run for about 13 miles which is indicated on the speedometer. The Indian Scout motorcycle was presented for judging at the SoCal AMCA El Camino in 1974 and 1975 where it won top honors.  It was placed on exhibit in a museum after that until the passing of Mr. Julian. The estate placed the motorcycle in controlled storage pending closure of the estate and the bike is now available for the next curator, rider.  With a reputation for motorcycle restoration details and a superb machinist, Mr. Julian was well regarded by his peers such as Bob Stark, Speed Engelhart, and Bill Waltermire. Mr. Julian owned an Indian motorcycle dealership in Ohio prior to his retirement and relocation to Southern California.
