This is an original 1949 Indian Scout motorcycle. It would be properly called a 1949 Indian Scout Super Sport, 249. That translates to a factory-built and delivered as you see it with the bags, paint scheme, and light bars. Additional Indian, period, correct options have been added. It is believed to be an original paint machine, lightly used and cared for. The owner of this machine was married to an Indian motorcycle aficionado and wanted her own machine. She rode this bike along with her husband on his Chief for many years. The bike was always garaged and cared for with love.
This Indian Scout 249 has not been ridden for 3 years since the passing of the Chief rider and it is ready for a new curator. A standard check-up and tune-up should provide a riding, dependable machine.
