1947 Indian Chief, Big Boy Build
This 1947 Indian Chief is an original factory bike, matching numbers, with an older restoration. The current owner is a big guy and an Indian motorcycle lover. He has owned many Indians and rides many miles. When this bike was found, he knew of its history of being restored and rebuilt by Ted Williams from Sacramento CA. Ted learned his craft while working for Sammy Pierce in SoCal in the early days.
This Indian Chief was built as an 80-inch with Bonneville cams and intake. The motorcycle has been modified to make it a better ride for a big guy with bad knees! The original parts taken off have been saved and will sell with the bike. This beautiful Indian Chief is ready for the road and ready for show. Updates include a 4 speed transmission, a Kiwi electric starter, 5 gallon Iron Horse Corral tanks, Greer clutch plates, new round profile tires, period leather saddlebags with studs, & cast luggage rack on rear fender, and a 1947 California license plate.
The engine has just been rebuilt by a quality Indian Motorcycle shop and it is ready to go. This motorcycle has an all new engine that has been correctly broken in.
