1941 Indian Sport Scout — Un-restored ORIGINAL
This is an original paint, factory original, un-restored Indian motorcycle. This motorcycle was used by the original owner to go to work before and after WWII. He purchased the bike just before war broke out and he stored it in the basement when he was drafted. He brought the machine back out on his return from war and rode it to work for many years until a mishap occurred that had him put it back in the basement until his death at 92 years. The bike was bequeathed to his nephew when he died. The nephew had the bike tuned in 2003, put on new tires and a new wire harness and he put it back into storage (he did not like riding motorcycles). This motorcycle is a true gem. It runs and is fit for duty. It is only unrestored once and should NEVER be restored.
Odometer show 18,000 but is not currently working. Actual mileage unknown but the machine shows little sign of wear or use.
Originally Sea Foam Blue, the paint has faded over the years and it has numerous scratches. This appears to be original paint. This machine should NEVER be repainted. It is only original once.
All original sheet metal with great patina including some dings, dents, and dimples. The front fender ding can probably be relieved somewhat without ruining the original patina.
Minimal Chrome. What is there is compromised? Check the pictures close.
The carb has been cleaned and a new float installed. It starts right up if you know the sequence and it is smooth through the gears. Good compression and the clutch is tight.
original wheels and spokes are quite serviceable. New Dunlop tires installed 3 years ago with maybe 10 miles on the tread.
Clear Missouri Title signed by the original family. California's title is available for a fee.
This would be rated as a 1 or more because of its originality. You just cannot find these anymore!
