Overview

This 1938 Indian Chief was acquired by the seller in the late 70’s. It was his restoration project and has become his go to ride ever since. This Indian Chief has completed many years of faithful service including SoCal AMCA Road runs in Borrego Springs and in Death Valley. The bike is fresh-tuned, polished, and ready for the next ride. Clear California Title and current registration. This is a 1937 engine in an early 1938 frame.

Mileage

Mileage unknown. Probably about 2,500 miles on the build.

Paint

Excellent pain and paint prep. Some small dings and nicks on the frame from road use. A couple of soft runs noted on the fender.

Sheet Metal

Sheet metal is in excellent condition and well fit. No dings or dents found.

Chrome

Most shiny stuff on this motorcycle appears to be chrome and is in good condition.

Mechanical

This motorcycle is in Excellent mechanical condition. It has good compression and has recently been tuned. First kick machine if you know the drill (and have a strong leg!). Transmission shifts through the gears and the bike rolls smoothly. The owner is a restorer of motorcycles.

Wheels & Tires

Rims are painted steel with painted steel spokes and nipples.
Front Tire is Goodyear: 450 X 18 date coded out, serviceable.
Rear Tire is Coker: 450 X 18 date coded out, serviceable.

Clean California Title with a non-op registration.
