“Smokey” is Kenneth Elford. One of the best Scout race bike builders and an early rider. Not only did he build and tune his machine for the vintage races but he did all of the building and tuning and collaborating for Bob Nichols’ two race Scouts. Smokey’s #35 was last piloted by “Mad Dog” Shawn McConnell at the beach races in Seal Beach. Smokey acquired this bike in the early 90’s. It was in street trim and in excellent shape. The street trim items are still available and will sell with this motorcycle. This bike is a composition of all of Smokey’s miracles of weight loss, strength, and reliability. This fine machine has a clear California Title and a Title from 1992 in Smokey’s name.
Unknown. The bike is in excellent prep and looks like it has not been run. Smokey never let a bike sit after a race. It was always cleaned and prepped for the next one and for stand down life in his living room!
