1970 Triumph Bonneville T 120 RHD
Steve McQueen and Bud Ekins Owned!
This iconic Triumph 650 Bonneville motorcycle has just undergone a full restoration. This low mileage, matching number motorcycle now has barely 100 miles on a perfect, professional restoration. The new owner completed a record search on these correct and matching numbers and found a Dealers Report of Sale issued to the state of California when new. This bike was sold by a SoCal dealer by the name of “James Sherwin Eikens” to Solar Productions.

In 1971, Solar Productions funded the classic motorcycle documentary On Any Sunday, in which McQueen is featured, along with racing legends Mert Lawwill and Malcolm Smith. It appears that this motorcycle was sold by Ekins to his friend Steve McQueen as his about town rider during which time he was filming On Any Sunday!
This is truly a great find of a historic motorcycle! Unquestioningly the real deal, a real Ekins/McQueen motorcycle.
The 1970 Triumph Bonneville T120 650 probably really is the best one ever built, it’s certainly one of the prettiest. They run great, they’re fast, they handle fantastic and stop well.
The 1970 Triumph Bonneville T120 was not only the high water mark in Triumph 650 development, and the year that most people favor as ‘the best Triumph Bonneville ever built’, it was also the last year before the dreaded Oil-in-Frame bikes arrived, and all the problems with cash-strapped owner BSA began to surface.
