This 1962 Triumph 500 cc Speed Twin was sold at the Bonhams Las Vegas Motorcycle Auction in January of 2019. This is a survivor of the 1962 model line-up that was scoffed at because of the full body panels. The “bathtub” model has come of age as a great piece of art and complete models are rare to find.
This 1962 Speed Twin is as-purchased at the auction. It is part of the Robert Castoro collection and is being sold by the estate.
This Speed Twin was barely ridden after it arrived in the collection and it has been cared for in a climate-controlled environment. This is a road worthy machine. It fired right up in June of 2020, check out the video!
