This is a concours restoration of a 1948 Harley Davidson FL Panhead. Original and correct 1948 Harley Davidson parts were collected over time and set aside for this project. The bike was built over the last two years and was first started February 14, 2024. The build was managed by a knowledgeable builder using his network of specialists to ensure a Concours correct build. Power plant built by a senior panhead builder in Modesto CA. Paint and body work completed by a quality shop in Los Angeles. This bike is currently undergoing a 300-mile break in to be followed by a complete service. The bike is ready for show and go! This bike has a clean California title and current registration.
MILEAGE: 0 miles on a correct, Fresh restored speedometer from Vintage Rust.
PAINT: Outstanding prep and application of quality paint. Correct color for the year. New Flight Red paint by Geof Giamarrco.
SHEET METAL: Sheet metal is original Harley Davidson that has been prepped with love. It is well fit, no dings or dents. The Sheetmetal was collected over the years and put on the shelf for this project. Original frame offset springer #18 front leg. OEM guide taillight and headlights. OEM oil tank. OEM tank badges.
CHROME: All chrome replated by a great shop during the restoration.
MECHANICAL: This power plant was rebuilt by a senior Harley Davidson engine builder from Modesto CA. It is ready for the correct break in miles. 74 cu in completely rebuilt motor and transmission. Truett ozborne flywheels. All new Jim’s bearings race’s and main and pinion shafts. New piston and rings. New valves guides and valve springs. New brakes front and back. M35 TP carburetor. OEM ignition switch with new wiring harness. New 6-volt coil from Jeff Gorman. New clutch plates and primary chain.
WHEELS & TIRES: Rims are original Harley Davidson steel rims painted black with stainless steel spokes and nipples.
